TL;DR

Director, Commerce Strategy (Retail): Leading strategic initiatives and business transformation for client portfolios with an accent on omnichannel retail and commercial growth. Focus on synthesizing complex market data into actionable narratives and integrating AI tools into the strategic workflow.

Location: Hybrid (New York, NY). Must be based in the US and able to work from the office an average of four days a week

Salary: $75,000 — $180,000 USD

What you will do

  • Set the strategic agenda for client portfolios, identifying long-term levers for brand growth and business transformation.
  • Act as a senior strategic advisor to clients, challenging business models and uncovering untapped commerce opportunities.
  • Translate complex research insights into compelling strategic narratives and actionable "jobs to be done" for brands and retailers.
  • Develop comprehensive omnichannel retail and engagement strategies across in-store, online, social, and email platforms.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the career development of the strategic talent pool, upholding high standards of strategic rigor.
  • Integrate proprietary AI tools and emerging technologies into the strategic workflow to accelerate speed-to-insight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in omnichannel retail strategy, engagement marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-3+ years of formal experience managing direct reports and coaching team members.
  • Demonstrated experience working with top U.S. retailers and a deep understanding of their business models.
  • Proficiency with database tools such as MRI Simmons and Mintel, as well as sales/panel data platforms.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model in New York, NY (average 4 days/week in office)
