Software Engineer (Performance Engineering)

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in Ireland, with access to the Galway office)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain software and test capabilities to support performance engineering for hirify.global Cloud.
• Create and execute performance tests for platform features using team-supported frameworks.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify critical scenarios and improve performance test coverage.
• Implement instrumentation, monitoring, and alerting for cloud-native services running on AWS.
• Investigate failures, regressions, and stability issues using observability tools (logs, metrics, traces).
• Participate in code reviews and test environment on-call support rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Experience in software engineering, test engineering, or performance engineering.
• Proficiency in one or more languages: Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, or Java.
• Foundational understanding of backend service development, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of observability concepts including metrics, traces, and logs.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance or load testing tools and concepts.
• Experience working with microservices, asynchronous messaging, and NoSQL data stores.
• Experience performing root cause analysis in cloud environments.
• Experience contributing to internal engineering tools or test infrastructure.
