Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Hybrid in Dublin, Ireland

What you will do

• Develop scalable, performant, and resilient backend systems to support critical business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, and designers.
• Influence technical direction by participating in system design and architecture reviews.
• Drive software quality through code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a positive and inclusive engineering culture.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in production environments via on-call rotations.

Requirements

• BS in Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level fluency in at least one programming language and strong system design skills.
• Experience leading the design and operation of complex distributed systems in a modern cloud provider.
• Deep knowledge of REST API design, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Must be based in or able to work in Dublin, Ireland.

Nice to have

• Deep familiarity with AWS cloud services across compute, storage, and serverless.
• Expertise in Scala and functional programming patterns.
• Experience defining team-wide coding standards and operational practices.
