What you will do

• Build scalable, performant, and resilient backend systems to support critical business needs.
• Lead system design and architecture reviews to influence technical direction.
• Drive software quality through code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to an inclusive engineering culture.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues and author technical design documents.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure swift resolution of production outages.

Requirements

• BS in Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of professional experience.
• Expert-level fluency in at least one programming language and strong system design skills.
• Experience leading the design and operation of complex distributed systems in a modern cloud provider.
• Deep knowledge of REST API design, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Must be based in or able to work from Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Deep familiarity with AWS cloud services across compute, storage, and serverless.
• Expertise in Scala and/or functional programming patterns.
• Experience defining and evolving team-wide coding standards and operational practices.
