Location: Berlin (HQ) & Hybrid; Remote-first with teams located around the globe

What you will do
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented Python code for backend services and APIs.
- Implement backend components for business-critical web applications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to design and deliver new features across the portal ecosystem.
- Debug, test, and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
- Improve engineering workflows (CI, PR reviews, local testing, and release processes).
- Turn ambiguous problems into clear requirements and align solutions with real-world constraints.
Requirements
- Several years of experience building and operating backend services in Python end-to-end (design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, maintenance).
- Experience with backend frameworks, preferably FastAPI or Django (ReactJS experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of SQL databases, including indexes and locks.
- Fluent English (verbal and written) and comfort collaborating asynchronously across multiple time zones.
- Product-minded approach: influence technical direction and contribute beyond implementation.
Nice to have
- Full-stack experience.
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with other languages such as Ruby or TypeScript.
