Senior Legal Counsel, EU Employment Law (Platform Workers)

Location: Vienna, Austria; candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to one of the company's markets in the EU. Remote work and limited international travel of up to 10% are available.

Gross annual salary starting at EUR 100,000, depending on qualifications and experience, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead the global management of platform worker and rider classification risks.
• Manage high-profile litigation and regulatory investigations with local legal counsel.
• Develop defense strategies and advise on employment law challenges related to platform work.
• Partner with Product, Tech, and Operations teams on delivery operations, technology, and next-generation delivery solutions.
• Support new business models and strategic opportunities related to platform work.
• Track legislative and regulatory developments and advise Public Policy teams and senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Fully qualified employment lawyer in an EU jurisdiction.
• At least six years of employment law experience in a law firm environment, with a strong litigation background.
• Deep expertise in platform work, worker classification, and the EU Platform Workers Directive.
• Strong legal judgment, stakeholder influence, communication, and legal drafting skills.
• Full professional proficiency in English and fluency in at least one additional European language.
• Willingness to be based in or relocate to an EU market.
