Legal Counsel - Employment Law Advisory (Hybrid - 80-100%) Make an impact

Location: London, GB; hybrid work with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week

Annual base salary: GBP 94,000–140,000 for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide legal counsel across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, hiring, promotions, development, employee relations, discipline, terminations, and retirement.
• Draft, review, and negotiate HR-related legal documents.
• Support employment aspects of corporate restructurings, acquisitions, and dispositions.
• Develop and improve local and global templates, policies, processes, and best practices for HR and business teams.
• Advise on pay equity, discrimination prevention, wage and hour matters, workplace safety, data protection, and global mobility.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, prepare reports and presentations, and deliver in-house training.

Requirements

• Fully UK-qualified lawyer.
• At least 7 years of post-qualification employment law experience, covering both contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Experience in a law firm and in-house at a multinational company, preferably in banking, insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
• Strong familiarity with corporate HR operations and the employee lifecycle.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, influencing, communication, and client-service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and provide high-quality, timely, pragmatic, solution-oriented advice.

Nice to have

• Experience with international employment law issues.
• Proficiency in a language in addition to English.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies affecting the workplace.
• Project management experience with multijurisdictional initiatives.
• Advanced degree or certification in employment law or a related field, or experience working abroad.
