Senior Counsel - Employment Law

Location: United Kingdom, with flexible home working and regular office work from Cambridge or Uxbridge

What you will do

• Advise HR and business leaders on complex employment and labor law matters across multiple European jurisdictions, with additional coverage of Latin America, the Middle East, and Canada.
• Provide strategic and practical counsel on cross-border employment issues and initiatives.
• Manage employment litigation, administrative claims, and disputes, including oversight of outside counsel.
• Guide employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Partner with regional HR and Staff Relations teams to identify and mitigate employment-related legal risks.
• Coordinate with local counsel and act as a subject-matter expert and escalation point for complex, sensitive, novel, or cross-border matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Qualified to practice in the UK and/or Ireland, admitted to the bar or the Law Society Roll of Solicitors.
• Significant experience practicing employment law, including experience in EU countries.
• Experience with a multinational corporation or globally recognized law firm.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and advising business partners.
• Strong written and oral communication, relationship-building, collaboration, and practical problem-solving skills.
