What you will do
- Provide senior-level financial oversight for the Director’s research portfolio, including financial architecture, signing authority, variance analysis, and trend forecasting.
- Develop and implement financial sustainability models; advise on strategic resource allocation and risk mitigation for large multi-site grants.
- Ensure grant and contract compliance by overseeing research and special purpose accounts and resolving non-compliance, over-expenditure, and ineligible cost issues.
- Lead research portfolio governance by advising on priorities, risk exposure, and resource sustainability; manage delegated authority over committees and working groups.
- Oversee operational lifecycle of major research initiatives, including compliance frameworks and inter-institutional agreement negotiation/administration.
- Supervise research support staff and coordinate logistics for the Director’s meetings, travel, and external representation.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex relationships and provide senior-level judgment, tact, and discretion in sensitive matters.
- Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, partnership development, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders calmly and effectively, including in conflict-sensitive situations.
- Ability to supervise and manage staff (recruit, mentor, manage, discipline, and terminate).
