What you will do

• Lead and mentor a small team of junior and assistant underwriters to build team capability.
• Drive the profitable development and strategic growth of the APAC Wholesale and Facultative Financial Lines portfolio.
• Underwrite and manage new and renewal business, determining technical pricing, structure, and terms for complex risks.
• Build and deepen strategic relationships with brokers and clients across the APAC region.
• Monitor portfolio performance and claims trends to adjust strategies and preserve profitability.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and international underwriting colleagues to deliver tailored risk solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive underwriting experience in Financial Lines (D&O, Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, Crime, and Cyber) within APAC markets.
• Proven track record in Wholesale and Facultative reinsurance or facultative placements for complex corporate risks.
• Established broker and market relationships in the APAC region.
• Demonstrated ability to originate and grow a profitable portfolio while managing volatility.
• Strong expertise in risk assessment, wording analysis, and negotiation of facultative terms.
• Experience in leading, coaching, and managing other underwriting professionals.
