TL;DR

Risk & MI Governance Manager (Financial Services): Strengthening governance, enhancing financial control frameworks, and producing repeatable management information (MI) with an accent on independent oversight, risk/issue escalation through Risk and Change Forums, and embedding controls aligned to Group standards. Focus on designing control frameworks, monitoring financial and enterprise risks, and influencing senior stakeholders to support regulatory-aligned decision-making and good customer outcomes.

What you will do

  • Provide independent oversight and constructive challenge to ensure risks are managed and governance standards are applied consistently.
  • Design and maintain a comprehensive financial control framework aligned to Group standards.
  • Identify, monitor, and support mitigation of key financial and enterprise risks.
  • Produce high-quality, consistent, repeatable MI to support leadership decision-making and oversight.
  • Manage and enhance Risk and Change Forums to track and escalate risks, issues, and actions.
  • Partner with Finance and Group stakeholders to influence planning, prioritisation, resourcing, and risk management.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of financial control frameworks, governance models, and risk management within financial services.
  • Solid knowledge of insurance accounting, actuarial processes, and regulatory requirements including IFRS and Solvency II.
  • Experience designing and embedding governance structures and risk management processes.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality MI and communicate insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Confidence influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders in complex environments.
  • Experience overseeing financial reporting cycles, controls, and audit processes.
