What you will do

• Oversee the identification, classification, and management of sensitive and critical data across the business.
• Monitor data retention and deletion practices to ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and the UK Data Protection Act.
• Evaluate and secure data exchange practices internally and with third parties according to industry best practices.
• Govern reporting and analytics processes to preserve data integrity, privacy, and accuracy.
• Develop and enhance data governance, classification, and privacy policies based on emerging regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and deep dives on data-related processes to provide recommendations to 1st line functions.

Requirements

• 7-10 years’ experience in data governance, data protection, or information risk.
• Proven track record within the fintech or financial services sectors.
• Advanced degree in Information Management, Data Science, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, UK Data Protection Act, BCBS 239).
• Location: Must be based in London and able to work from the office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIPP/E, CDMP, CIPT, or ISO 27001.
