What you will do

• Serve as the designated 1st Class Chief Engineer ensuring plant utility and powerhouse operations meet all regulatory and safety standards.
• Provide daily leadership to powerhouse and facilities personnel, including reviewing operating logbooks and shift performance.
• Oversee maintenance activities, prioritize work orders in MAXIMO, and coordinate with contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate daily operational meetings to align on safety, quality, responsiveness, and environmental performance.
• Manage administrative tasks including scheduling, timekeeping, and procurement requisitions.
• Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.

Requirements

• Valid 1st Class Chief Engineer certification required for site operations.
• Extensive experience leading plant operations and maintenance in an industrial environment.
• Proficiency with business tools including MAXIMO, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada as GM does not provide immigration sponsorship for this role.
• Must be able to work onsite full-time in Ingersoll, Ontario.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or large-scale industrial utility environments.
• Experience supervising shift-based operations teams.
• Familiarity with GMS (Global Manufacturing System) and structured daily management systems.
