Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Austin, TX; hybrid work opportunities. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Visa sponsorship or transfer of employment visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Design, implement, integrate, and test backend or full-stack services, including APIs, data pipelines, and platform components.
• Build and evolve cloud-native services powering personalization and targeted experiences across hirify.global’s platform and partner ecosystem.
• Integrate services with internal systems, external partners, and third-party platforms.
• Operate and improve production systems through monitoring, alerting, debugging, incident resolution, and occasional on-call participation.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and shared engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and data scientists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; up to 2 years of related experience may be required, or an advanced degree without experience.
• Experience building backend services; full-stack experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, single-page applications, and service-oriented or distributed architectures.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and experience in a cloud-based environment, preferably AWS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience working in an Agile or iterative development environment. Fluent written and oral English is required.
