What you will do

• Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a large backend engineering organization.
• Lead, mentor, and grow multiple engineering managers and senior engineers.
• Drive technical decision-making and establish standards for architecture, scalability, and reliability.
• Oversee the design of backend systems supporting user identity, integrations, and data processing.
• Partner with Infrastructure, SRE, Product, and Data teams to improve system observability and efficiency.
• Translate strategic goals into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 8+ years in engineering leadership.
• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams through managers in a high-scale SaaS or data-intensive environment.
• Strong technical background in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and large-scale backend services.
• Track record of developing engineering leaders and building high-performing teams.
• Must be based in Canada or the United States.
