TL;DR

Director of Engineering (AI/Cybersecurity): Leading the development of an AI-native platform across IT, OT, and cybersecurity domains with an accent on distributed systems and scalable infrastructure. Focus on driving AI-assisted engineering practices and scaling high-performing engineering organizations.

Location: Hybrid (Austin, Texas). Must be based in Austin, Texas (2 days onsite per week)

What you will do

• Lead and scale engineering organizations focused on AI-native infrastructure and cybersecurity platforms.
• Drive the execution and delivery of scalable, reliable software systems across IT, OT, and networking domains.
• Establish engineering processes that promote speed, quality, ownership, and accountability.
• Partner with executive leadership to define technical and organizational strategies.
• Champion and embed AI-assisted development tools and LLM-based workflows across the engineering organization.
• Mentor engineering leaders and senior technical talent to grow organizational capability.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of engineering organizations.
• Proven track record leading teams building infrastructure, platform, or cybersecurity products.
• Strong technical background in C++, Go, or Rust.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, LLM, and Machine Learning technologies in production.
• Must be based in Austin, Texas for the hybrid work model.

Nice to have

• Experience with network technologies, infrastructure intelligence, or visibility systems.
• Knowledge of enterprise IT and OT ecosystems.
• Experience with cybersecurity analysis systems, SIEM, EDR, or threat intelligence platforms.
• Familiarity with modern AI engineering tooling such as Claude Code.
