Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; hybrid work with onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday each week

Salary: $208,000–$260,000 annually starting base salary, plus equity and additional compensation components.

What you will do

• Own technical direction and architecture for US and Canada regional customer experiences across web, mobile, services, and integrations.
• Lead large cross-team initiatives, design reviews, and domain-level technical planning.
• Partner with product, design, analytics, and engineering leaders to shape regional roadmaps.
• Establish AI-native engineering practices and maintain automation standards across teams.
• Improve reliability, observability, security, quality, and scalability while resolving long-standing engineering bottlenecks.
• Mentor engineers at multiple levels through design and code reviews, while remaining hands-on with TypeScript, React Native, Java/Kotlin, and Go.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience, including leading large multi-team initiatives end to end.
• Advanced expertise in one or more of TypeScript, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, or Go.
• 4+ years of React or React Native development experience.
• Strong computer science, web, native app, design patterns, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
• Experience leading cross-team design reviews and designing extensible systems.
• Experience using AI throughout the software development lifecycle and helping others apply it effectively.
