What you will do

• Own and architect the top-level safety case, decomposing it into pillars, claims, and supporting evidence.
• Map safety arguments against UL 4600, ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), and other aligned standards.
• Coordinate evidence production across engineering, safety, and operations teams to resolve dependencies.
• Prepare for and lead third-party safety case assessments at each deployment phase gate.
• Manage safety case traceability and tooling using Jama, YouTrack, or other approved ALM tools.
• Define and report safety case maturity and gate readiness metrics to leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in systems, functional safety, or safety assurance engineering.
• Direct ownership or substantial contribution to a safety case for a safety-critical system.
• Working knowledge of UL 4600, ISO 26262, ISO 21448/SOTIF, or aerospace equivalents (ARP4754A, DO-178C).
• Familiarity with Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) or other structured assurance argumentation.
• Experience with requirements or ALM tooling such as Jama, YouTrack, or DOORS.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no relocation sponsorship provided).

Nice to have

• Experience with AV, robotics, aerospace, or other safety-critical autonomous systems.
• Background in negotiating with certification bodies, regulators, or third-party assessors.
• Hazard analysis and risk assessment experience (HARA, STPA, FHA, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with emerging AI assurance standards such as ISO 8800.
