TL;DR

Director of Sales (East): Leading and managing sales operations across the East region with an accent on driving distribution, managing DSD partnerships, and executing strategic growth plans. Focus on mentoring a team of Regional Managers, leveraging consumption data to optimize performance, and scaling brand presence within the CPG sector.

Location: Must be based in the United States

Compensation: $150,000–$170,000 base + Bonus

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Regional Managers to achieve territory-specific sales goals.
  • Establish and manage partnerships with DSD distributors and regional food brokers.
  • Translate national business strategy into locally executable plans for the East region.
  • Negotiate funding agreements and design incentive programs for distributor organizations.
  • Execute and evaluate rolling forecasts against annual plans on a monthly basis.
  • Provide category management leadership and marketplace insights using key consumption data.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of sales experience within a CPG company.
  • Established relationships with key retail accounts and distributors across multiple channels.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a field sales team through servant leadership.
  • Proficiency in data tools like SPINS and retail portals, and strong trade math skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clean driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the Natural Products Industry.
  • Background in refrigerated, ambient, or frozen CPG spaces.
