Sales Director, Scale Retail (SaaS): Lead and scale a team of midmarket/scale Account Executives managing the full SaaS customer lifecycle with an accent on retail verticalization, repeatable go-to-market sales playbooks, and hands-on deal execution. Focus on building a high-performing sales organization and operationalizing retail/consumer goods strategies that drive net-new acquisition and long-term expansion.

Location: San Francisco

Salary: $120,000–$181,000/year; OTE: $240,000–$360,000/year (including bonus/commission)

What you will do

  • Hire, nurture, and lead a team of world-class sales talent.
  • Set and execute an aggressive customer acquisition and expansion strategy for the region.
  • Own retail verticalization: develop and continuously refine sales playbooks, messaging frameworks, and retail-specific value propositions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to build the retail go-to-market motion, including events, thought leadership, and targeted outbound.
  • Align go-to-market teams (BDR, marketing, value engineering, SolCon, executive) to execute the FY plan and present a single vision to customers.
  • Coach the team through the sales process, participate in deals as needed, and provide accurate sales forecasting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of proven sales experience.
  • At least 5 years leading a team of 5+ quota-carrying midmarket Account Executives.
  • Proven ability to recruit, retain, inspire, and develop top sales talent.
  • Experience leading the full SaaS customer lifecycle: prospecting, acquisition, retention, and long-term relationship growth.
  • Demonstrated success building vertical go-to-market strategies and sales playbooks, ideally in retail and/or consumer brand segments.
  • Strong commercial and legal negotiation skills; excellent verbal, written, and in-person presentation skills.
