What you will do

• Oversee EPC contractor engineering design and construction for Solar, Wind, and BESS collector high voltage substations and transmission lines (35kV to 500kV).
• Review substation EPC designs for compliance with interconnection agreement requirements and industry reliability standards.
• Coordinate power system studies, including load flows, short circuits, harmonics, and insulation coordination.
• Collaborate with utilities to design collector substations that meet both internal specifications and Transmission Provider requirements.
• Coordinate Generation Tie line or Transmission line design with EPCs and internal stakeholders.
• Support substation commissioning by reviewing apparatus testing and coordinating with utilities and ISO.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Must be based in Louisville, CO, US.
• 7+ years of technical design experience in substation (Physical/P&C) or transmission line design for senior roles.
• Proficiency in reading control schematics for HV breakers and Main Power Transformers.
• Mature understanding of grid integration requirements for renewable energy.
• Advanced knowledge of power system modeling, including load flow, grounding, and arc-flash.

Nice to have

• PE Licensure in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, or Utah.
• Experience with ETAP, PSLF, PSS/E, or PLS-CADD.
• Project Management experience managing HV EPCs.
• Experience in SCADA controls, architecture, and relay system testing.
