Location: Remote or Lakewood, Colorado; hybrid or fully remote depending on location and project needs. Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States. Travel typically ranges from 15–25% and includes periodic field engagement.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year, based on the Denver, Colorado labor market.

What you will do

• Design substation electrical power systems, including one-line and three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring, SCADA, communications, grounding, equipment selection, and cable routing.
• Prepare power system models and studies covering short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, and harmonic analysis.
• Develop protective relay settings and perform hand checks to validate computer-based results.
• Prepare equipment specifications, cost estimates, budgets, proposals, schedules, and technical reports.
• Provide field assistance and troubleshooting, and check the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel.
• Support client communication and meetings while working under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; an electric power focus is preferred.
• 1–5 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design.
• Understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards.
• Effective written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• FE or PE licensure is a plus but not required; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
