TL;DR

Validation Engineering Specialist (Electrification): Developing and overseeing validation strategies for motor and generator solutions with an accent on risk mitigation and product durability. Focus on creating comprehensive validation plans, leading DFMEA activities, and analyzing field durability data to ensure high product quality before field deployment.

Location: Must be based onsite in Mossville, IL 5 days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $128,470 - $192,710

What you will do

  • Develop validation strategies and plans covering virtual analysis, supplier, component, system, and machine-level verification.
  • Lead DFMEA activities to ensure risk-based and complete validation plans aligned with best practices.
  • Forecast test facility demand, managing equipment needs, capacity constraints, and priority conflicts.
  • Plan durability tests, defining objectives, duty cycles, instrumentation needs, and success criteria.
  • Communicate validation status, risks, and readiness during Design and Gateway Reviews.
  • Analyze field durability data using tools like Weibull analysis to identify trends and support corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in analytical thinking and root cause analysis of organizational problems.
  • Expert knowledge of product testing approaches, techniques, and tools.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Ability to work onsite in Mossville, IL 5 days a week.
  • Must have existing US work authorization (no visa sponsorship available).

Nice to have

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Prior experience in product testing or validation for motors, generators, inverters, or electric drive components.
  • Working knowledge of power electronics, controls, cooling, and mechanical integration in electrified powertrains.
  • Experience applying structured DVP&R and risk assessment processes.
