What you will do

• Develop custom and configured mechanical designs for low voltage products within established system architectures.
• Create advanced 3D models and detailed 2D fabrication, assembly, and customer coordination drawings.
• Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure alignment with released designs and manufacturing standards.
• Collaborate with R&D, project managers, and quality teams to meet functional, schedule, and cost targets.
• Review designs to ensure compliance with industry guidelines and UL 891/1558 standards.
• Incorporate feedback from testing, field installation, and fabrication into product refinements.

Requirements

• BSME required, MSME preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in CTO or system engineering.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Pro E.
• Expertise in sheet metal design, including manufacturability and cost optimization.
• Knowledge of UL 891/1558 design guidelines and NFPA70E.
• Must be based in or be able to work from Jacksonville, Florida.

Nice to have

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Experience working in a configure-to-order (CTO) or design-to-order environment.
• Experience in manufacturing and cross-functional engagement.
