What you will do

  • Design and detail mechanical structures, mechanisms, and payload interfaces for UAS airframes.
  • Manage design work across multiple concurrent programs to ensure platform coherence.
  • Perform tolerance stack-ups and DFM reviews to ensure designs are producible at scale.
  • Collaborate with systems and avionics teams to resolve mechanical interface requirements.
  • Support prototype assembly and testing hands-on in the lab or on the build floor.
  • Maintain technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and change records.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience in weight-critical industries like aerospace or automotive.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or Creo.
  • Practical knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and experience with sheet metal, machined, or composite parts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel while maintaining high design rigor.
  • Hands-on orientation with a willingness to work directly on hardware validation.

Nice to have

  • Experience with composite structures or additive manufacturing for flight hardware.
  • Exposure to structural analysis and FEA.
  • Prior experience on a platform or core engineering team.
  • Working knowledge of German for local team collaboration.
