What you will do
- Design and detail mechanical structures, mechanisms, and payload interfaces for UAS airframes.
- Manage design work across multiple concurrent programs to ensure platform coherence.
- Perform tolerance stack-ups and DFM reviews to ensure designs are producible at scale.
- Collaborate with systems and avionics teams to resolve mechanical interface requirements.
- Support prototype assembly and testing hands-on in the lab or on the build floor.
- Maintain technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and change records.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience in weight-critical industries like aerospace or automotive.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or Creo.
- Practical knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and experience with sheet metal, machined, or composite parts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel while maintaining high design rigor.
- Hands-on orientation with a willingness to work directly on hardware validation.
Nice to have
- Experience with composite structures or additive manufacturing for flight hardware.
- Exposure to structural analysis and FEA.
- Prior experience on a platform or core engineering team.
- Working knowledge of German for local team collaboration.
