What you will do
- Lead the design and architectural definition of complex mechanical systems and components for AI-driven robots.
- Create, review, and approve detailed 3D models and technical drawings using mechanical engineering best practices, including GD&T.
- Drive integration with electrical and software engineering teams and resolve cross-disciplinary technical bottlenecks.
- Define and oversee mechanical simulations, reliability testing, prototyping, and performance validation.
- Optimize mechanical architectures for cost, efficiency, design for manufacturing and assembly, and high-volume production.
- Own the hardware product lifecycle from concept through commercial production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computational Mechanics, Engineering Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in robotics or automation.
- Expert proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar, as well as PDM/PLM systems.
- Strong knowledge of material properties, manufacturing methods, mechanical testing, rapid prototyping, reliability engineering, and system integration.
- Experience taking hardware products through the full lifecycle from initial concept to commercial production.
- Willingness to travel; approximately 25% travel is desirable.
