Lead Mechanical Engineer (Drones)

What you will do

• Own mechanical designs from early concepts through prototyping, validation, and large-scale manufacturing.
• Lead the design and optimization of mechanical systems for aerial, ground, and maritime robotic platforms.
• Create and review CAD models, 2D drawings, tolerance analyses, and thermal, structural, and vibration simulations.
• Select and integrate components with electrical, software, and systems engineering teams.
• Validate designs in laboratory and real-world environments and collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers on DFM, cost efficiency, and scalability.
• Document technical findings, communicate project updates, and coach junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of industry experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics, drones, aerospace, or high-performance mechatronic systems.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and PDM/PLM systems, preferably Onshape or Solidworks.
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, thermal management, structural analysis, and kinematics.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly, mechanical testing, and environmental constraints such as IP ratings, vibration, and temperature.
• EU citizenship required; strong English communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
