Senior Director, Reliability and Security Engineering (Medtech)

What you will do

• Lead and grow SRE, IT, and Security engineering teams, reporting to the VP of Platform.
• Establish the security engineering practice, including strategy, tooling, and compliance posture.
• Ensure reliability and availability of cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters powering distributed numerical ML workloads.
• Own the compliance roadmap, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and targeted HITRUST r2 certification.
• Evolve incident response practices, including on-call structures, escalation paths, and post-incident learning.
• Build self-service IT tooling and workflows to reduce employee friction while maintaining strong access controls.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, infrastructure, or security engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience, including at least some experience at a director level.
• Must be based in the Boston area to support close partnership with the local team.
• Experience working in regulated industries such as biopharma, healthcare, or fintech.
• Proven ability to implement security controls and compliance workflows as code.
• Strong incident management experience in production environments.
