What you will do

• Underwrite new commercial real estate transactions, specifically for multi-family, retail, mixed-use, and office properties.
• Analyze property financial statements, client data, and property details to evaluate overall creditworthiness.
• Assess credit risk, determine appropriate loan structures, and establish viable sources of repayment.
• Coordinate third-party engagements and order necessary searches to complete the underwriting process.
• Prepare comprehensive credit memos and present loan recommendations for approval in accordance with bank policy.
• Stay current on internal policies and external economic, financial, and legislative trends affecting commercial lending.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant CRE and construction underwriting experience.
• Must be based in or able to work from Fort Lee, New Jersey.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of commercial lending trends, banking compliance policies, and regulations.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
