What you will do

• Evaluate individual medical histories, physical conditions, and financial backgrounds to determine whether to accept, modify, or decline risk.
• Apply and interpret underwriting policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure consistency.
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and effectively in both written and verbal forms.
• Influence and champion process improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining mortality expectations.
• Independently manage assigned requests and gather necessary information for decision-making with minimal direction.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 5-7 years of experience in Life/Health Insurance underwriting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of risk selection, including medical, non-medical, and financial.
• Experience working with underwriting rules engines.
• Experience with term and permanent, adult and juvenile life insurance underwriting.
• 4-year degree preferred.
