Salary: $190,000 – $240,000

What you will do
- Build and scale the company's legal infrastructure, including templates, processes, and commercial agreement frameworks.
- Partner cross-functionally to provide practical, decisive legal guidance that accelerates business decision-making.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO and executive team on legal and regulatory risk.
- Oversee compliance and data privacy frameworks, specifically regarding HIPAA and sensitive patient data.
- Design efficient legal workflows for intake, triage, and escalation to ensure proactive legal support.
- Collaborate with outside counsel on specialized regulatory and privacy matters.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of legal experience, with significant in-house experience in technology or healthcare technology.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in New York or another U.S. jurisdiction.
- Deep expertise in negotiating commercial contracts, including SaaS MSAs, BAAs, and vendor agreements.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy regulations.
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and provide sound risk assessments without a full playbook.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or digital health environments.
- Familiarity with state privacy laws like CCPA/CPRA and AI/data governance frameworks.
- Experience supporting fundraising rounds, equity management, or board governance.
- Prior experience as a company's first or sole in-house counsel.
