Senior Manager, Sustainable Infrastructure - Environment

Location: Arlington, Virginia office or remote in the United States; only some states may be considered. Current or future US work authorization is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $120,000–$140,000.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex, client-focused environmental and socioeconomic projects for mining clients.
• Oversee proposals, budgets, project plans, implementation, reporting, quality assurance, and client relationships.
• Lead technical work on environmental risk management, biodiversity, decarbonization, major hazards, tailings, waste, water, air quality, rehabilitation, climate finance, and nature-based solutions.
• Design and implement environmental management plans and systems supporting mining communities, private-sector investment, and impact funding.
• Develop business opportunities, technical proposals, partnerships, and client networks in the mining and environmental performance sectors.
• Produce technical reports, case studies, policy approaches, and results summaries on closure, post-mining land use, community resilience, and just transition.

Requirements

• 7+ years of senior-level experience in client-facing management roles on large private- or public-sector projects.
• At least 5 years of direct experience working with mining companies as clients.
• Fluency in English and at least one additional language: French, Spanish, or Portuguese.
• Strong environmental expertise in mining, including environmental management plans, biodiversity, decarbonization, major hazards, tailings, waste, water, air quality, and rehabilitation.
• Experience with closure and rehabilitation phases, post-mining land use programs, emerging-market contexts, business development, and multisector stakeholder engagement.
• Relevant experience in project management, financial analysis, proposal and report writing, presentations, and Excel-based forecasting.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, natural resources, economics, anthropology, sociology, business administration, international development, politics, or a related discipline.
• In-house experience working for a mining company.
• Experience managing teams across geographies and cultures.
