SerDes IP Systems Engineering Director (SerDes)

What you will do

• Lead the Die-to-Die Systems analysis team while contributing hands-on technical development for advanced D2D SerDes IP products.
• Develop statistical and linear link-system analyses, model nonidealities, and define design specifications for circuit designers.
• Define, model, and analyze high-performance D2D SerDes IP microarchitecture, link budgets, and specifications.
• Develop infrastructure for product development, systems modeling, analysis, and testing, including end-to-end simulations with Simulink, ADS, and similar tools.
• Provide signal-integrity and power-integrity guidance to customers, support package and board design/debug, and guide package design using in-package D2D channel analysis.
• Generate technical specifications, datasheets, and application notes; track standards developments, customer feedback, and competitive analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience working with high-speed, high-performance SerDes and PHYs.
• Deep understanding of high-speed SerDes architecture, communication-systems fundamentals, wireline communications, signal propagation physics, and basic circuits.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, ADS, or similar link-analysis and statistical-analysis tools, with experience using MATLAB, Perl, and other scripting tools.
• Strong coding skills for simulation and modeling, data-analysis skills, and strong mathematical skills involving linear systems, Fourier analysis, and filter theory.
• Knowledge of signal-processing DSP algorithms and architecture, plus experience generating systems or IBIS-AMI models.
• Strong group presentation, leadership, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• PhD or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
• Ability to reason through engineering systems end-to-end and identify bottlenecks and weak points; good experimental skills.
• Demonstrated capacity for self-education and developing expertise in new fields.
