TL;DR

Director, Social Strategy (Pharma): Leading the development of cross-platform social strategies for patient and HCP audiences with an accent on integrated organic and paid social approaches. Focus on building social as a strategic capability, managing KOL/DOL programs, and driving social-first thinking within a regulated healthcare environment.

Location: Must be based in the US (New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington DC, or Boston preferred).

What you will do

  • Lead cross-platform social strategy development for patient and HCP audiences.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on social engagement, platform trends, and emerging content formats.
  • Develop and execute influencer, KOL, DOL, and ambassador strategies aligned with brand objectives.
  • Partner with account, strategy, media, and analytics teams to integrate social into broader campaign planning.
  • Present strategic recommendations and POVs to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Establish scalable social processes, best practices, and strategic frameworks across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in social strategy, digital marketing, or integrated media planning.
  • Proven experience developing cross-platform social strategies, ideally within healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Strong understanding of both organic and paid social ecosystems and audience engagement behaviors.
  • Experience managing influencer, ambassador, KOL, or DOL programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise clients and present strategic recommendations in client-facing settings.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing dynamics.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members.
