What you will do
- Partner with Casualty underwriters to provide guidance on coverage, contract certainty, and regulatory considerations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contract wordings, endorsements, and clauses for casualty, liability, and cyber risks.
- Support new and existing product development by advising on wording structure and legal risk management.
- Maintain internal wordings resources, clause libraries, and templates to ensure consistency.
- Provide technical training and knowledge-sharing for underwriters and other stakeholders.
- Represent the company in Lloyd’s and London Market forums regarding emerging risks and legal developments.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in wordings, underwriting support, or insurance legal roles, ideally within the Lloyd’s or London Market.
- Proven experience with casualty, liability, financial lines, or cyber insurance wordings.
- Strong contract drafting skills with excellent written English and attention to detail.
- Ability to translate complex underwriting intent into clear, commercially appropriate policy language.
- Confidence in making coverage decisions and facilitating technical discussions with diverse stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Law degree or legal qualification involving commercial contract negotiation.
- Familiarity with LMA or London Market wording standards and model clauses.
- Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualification.
- Background in general non-marine insurance and reinsurance.
