Location: Remote (US), but not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA.

Compensation: $138,700 – $203,900 (varies by location).

What you will do

• Architect and ship reliable, high-velocity features for massive-scale email processing systems.
• Modernize backend systems and optimize Go-based microservices for performance and scalability.
• Manage and enhance dual-cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure using Terraform.
• Standardize observability, metrics, and distributed tracing across core data pipelines.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical debt, system bottlenecks, and single points of failure.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical sprint planning within a distributed team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building resilient backend services at scale.
• Strong production experience with Go, Java, or Python.
• Solid experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Deep understanding of distributed datastores, caching, and asynchronous event streaming (e.g., Kafka).
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools to streamline workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerized infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of database migration pathways to managed instances like AWS Aurora.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or distributed tracing systems.
• Experience handling network topology, proxy layers, or mail transfer agent (MTA) protocols.
