TL;DR

Community Lead (Gamedev): Defining and executing the overall community strategy for Media Molecule with an accent on player engagement, team leadership, and brand integrity. Focus on building long-term community growth, managing cross-functional relationships, and navigating high-pressure crisis communications within the PlayStation Studios ecosystem.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Guildford, UK (Hybrid: 3 days onsite per week).

What you will do

• Define and execute a long-term community engagement strategy aligned with studio milestones and game lifecycles.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the community team to foster professional growth and studio presence.
• Manage studio presence across key social channels including X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Discord, and Twitch.
• Build and maintain relationships with fans, media, and influencers to generate awareness.
• Partner with production, analytics, and QA teams to articulate project health and ensure cross-discipline alignment.
• Establish community guidelines and craft player-facing messaging, including patch notes and crisis communications.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to Guildford, UK for a hybrid work arrangement.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring a community team within the video games industry.
• Expert knowledge of major social media channels, video content, and livestreaming platforms.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to de-escalate online tension.
• Ability to travel internationally when required for events.
