Salary: $180,000 – $230,000

What you will do

• Define the technical direction for quality, including test pyramid strategy, coverage thresholds, and release criteria.
• Build and own the AI evals practice, creating infrastructure and metrics to ensure agentic features meet a rigorous quality bar.
• Establish a production-quality feedback loop using blameless postmortems and structured RCA practices.
• Coach and grow embedded Quality Engineers across delivery teams and lead the QE community of practice.
• Develop automation frameworks and shared libraries to standardize quality across the engineering organization.
• Collaborate with the VP of Engineering and Engineering Managers to evolve the long-term engineering strategy.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or SDET roles within modern SaaS environments.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid (3 days/week) in San Francisco, CA.
• Hands-on expertise in building evals for LLM-based or agentic features (e.g., LangSmith, Braintrust, DeepEval).
• Proficiency in modern automation frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress and languages like TypeScript, Python, or Go.
• Proven ability to drive quality practices across multiple teams through technical credibility and influence.
• Consistent experience using AI coding tools like Cursor or GitHub Copilot in a professional development workflow.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering quality programs for enterprise SaaS products in B2B, FinTech, or PropTech.
• Familiarity with observability and analytics platforms such as Sentry, Datadog, Pendo, or Amplitude.
