What you will do

• Build automated test suites from scratch for web, backend APIs, and critical trading flows using TypeScript and Playwright.
• Define and own the release testing process in collaboration with the TPM to ensure fast but stable shipping.
• Identify critical product edge cases in trading flows, market creation, and settlement.
• Integrate automated tests into the deployment pipeline (CI/CD) to catch issues before production.
• Manage bug tracking and maintain visibility into quality metrics using Linear.
• Hire and mentor 2-3 additional QA engineers as the function scales.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in QA engineering or SDET roles, specifically within fast-scaling startups.
• Proven track record of building test infrastructure from scratch using modern frameworks like Playwright or Cypress.
• Experience testing trading or fintech products where real money is involved.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or Python for test automation.
• Experience with CI/CD integration tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
• Must be based in New York for on-site work.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Crypto/DeFi and blockchain mechanics.
• Experience with prediction markets, sports betting platforms, or trading exchanges.
• Background in performance, load, or security testing.
• Mobile iOS testing experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring a small QA team.
