What you will do

• Design and build core software systems, services, and infrastructure for production and research.
• Define the software roadmap and prioritize execution in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Write and maintain production-quality code while establishing engineering standards and processes.
• Implement AI-assisted development workflows, coding agents, and automation tools.
• Build systems for large-scale data collection, processing, and integration with AI pipelines.
• Support software integration with cameras, sensors, and lab instrumentation.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Mateo, CA
• 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining complex software systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
• Experience with system architecture, cloud infrastructure, and data pipelines.
• Ability to operate as both a hands-on engineer and a technical lead.
• Experience with AI/ML systems, computer vision, or hardware integration is highly desirable.
