What you will do

• Lead the team building integrations with insurer portals, provider EHRs, and HSA/FSA platforms.
• Own the platform and infrastructure layer, including CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and observability.
• Act as a player-coach, contributing as an IC during onboarding before transitioning into a balanced management role.
• Drive prioritization and translate business requirements into a technical engineering roadmap.
• Mentor engineers through structured growth conversations and stretch assignments.
• Ensure security compliance and system reliability across backend systems.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience with depth in distributed systems.
• 2+ years of technical leadership experience (Engineering Management strongly preferred).
• Startup veteran with experience at a Series B or earlier company.
• Must be based in the Continental US.
• Willingness to contribute as an IC during the initial onboarding period.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/LLM-powered automation in production.
• Background in infrastructure or platform engineering: CI/CD, observability, security/compliance (HIPAA, SOC2).
• Experience in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries.
