Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Platform Engineer (Kubernetes/IaC): Managing and deploying Unicorn Delivery Service (UDS) environments across hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructures with an accent on Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Kubernetes orchestration. Focus on building custom UDS packages, providing technical guidance to system integrators, and ensuring secure, scalable software delivery for federal mission owners.

Location: Must be based in the United States. This role requires U.S. citizenship.

Salary: $148,750 – $201,250 USD

What you will do

• Implement and manage IaC modules to provision and configure customer environments.
• Support UDS deployments across AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and on-prem clusters.
• Build and maintain custom UDS packages and application-specific modules.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for system integrators and mission heroes.
• Develop and deliver technical training content for platform features and best practices.
• Provide on-call support for critical UDS issues and analyze operational data to optimize delivery.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracting requirements.
• Strong proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized applications.
• Experience with hybrid cloud architectures, networking, RBAC, and storage.
• Hands-on experience with AWS EKS, Azure AKS, or on-prem Kubernetes distributions.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub.
• Ability to travel up to 25% for on-site training and support.

Nice to have

• DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
