DevSecOps Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

DevSecOps Engineer (AWS): Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and automated solutions for federal IT systems with an accent on CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and security compliance. Focus on integrating security tools into the software development lifecycle, managing AWS GovCloud environments, and supporting mission-critical Veteran services.

Location: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Primarily remote, but must be able to come on-site in Washington, DC, as required.

What you will do

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD for automated software delivery.
• Manage and deploy applications in AWS GovCloud while ensuring compliance with VA security policies.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and manage container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Integrate security tools like Snyk, Aqua Security, and CodeQL into CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate security compliance and ATO evidence generation for NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable architectures and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in development, operations, and cybersecurity.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as AWS DevOps, CKA, Security+, or CISSP.
• Experience supporting VA or federal IT programs.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Platform One.
• Knowledge of healthcare IT systems or standards like HL7, FHIR, or MUMPS.
