TL;DR

Head of Commercial Strategy (Banking): Shaping the commercial strategy for the Business Banking segment with an accent on growth, investment, and client value delivery. Focus on turning data insights into commercial plans, managing P&L performance, and prioritizing investment cases.

Location: Hybrid (London and Bristol). Must spend at least two days per week (40% of time) at one of the office sites.

What you will do

  • Own and track the commercial strategy, plan, and priorities for the Business Banking segment.
  • Partner with Finance and Product teams to manage P&L performance, revenue, and profitability drivers.
  • Define priority sub-segments and growth opportunities using client and market insights.
  • Shape and prioritize investment cases based on return, impact, and feasibility.
  • Influence senior leaders to align teams with growth goals and regulatory expectations.
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams with a focus on inclusive talent development.

Requirements

  • Experience managing commercial performance within Financial Services, preferably in SME or commercial banking.
  • Strong financial acumen regarding balance sheet and non-balance-sheet income drivers.
  • Ability to translate enterprise-level strategy into clear, prioritized plans that deliver measurable results.
  • Proficiency in using data, market insights, and AI-enabled financial analysis.
  • Proven ability to deliver outcomes in complex, matrixed, and regulated environments.
  • Track record of leading and developing diverse, high-performing teams.
