Credit Balance Representative (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: Remote anywhere in the United States, with Central timezone alignment required

What you will do

• Analyze insurance and patient payments to determine the causes of account credit balances.
• Review payor contracts, identify overpayments, and request or post refunds and adjustments in accordance with hospital policies.
• Use software and reporting tools to resolve accounts, maintain accurate records, and support customer satisfaction.
• Monitor trends, document cash-posting and refunding issues, and report findings to leadership.
• Develop workflows and participate in special projects to improve departmental efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients while maintaining quality management and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in reimbursement or accounts receivable, preferably in a hospital or central billing office.
• Knowledge of patient accounting credit balances, payor overpayments, and the full revenue cycle process.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information, prioritize issues, and work professionally under pressure.
• Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of AS400.
• High-speed internet with at least 300 Mbps download speed, unlimited data, and a smartphone for MFA are required.
