Patient Accounting Liaison (Call Center Based Patient AR)

Location: United States; fully remote with no travel required

Pay: $19.00–$24.00 per hour

What you will do

• Handle a high volume of inbound patient calls, typically at least 75 calls per day.
• Collect past-due self-pay balances using professional communication and negotiation skills.
• Answer questions about patient statements, billing issues, payment plans, and financial hardship programs.
• Assess financial situations, determine eligibility for hardship assistance, and establish approved payment plans.
• Review accounts receivable, medical coding, claims, and Care Harmony denials to resolve discrepancies.
• Enter and update patient registration, insurance, charges, payments, adjustments, and billing information while collaborating with internal departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least five years of medical billing and insurance claim filing experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes and medical coding.
• Excellent communication skills, empathy, accuracy, multitasking, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, databases, and multiple technology programs.
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute and maintain HIPAA compliance.
