What you will do
- Manage a portfolio of Third Party Property Damage and Motor claims from initial notification to final resolution.
- Evaluate policy coverage and implement claim strategies to avoid formal claims and optimize outcomes.
- Select and manage law firms and experts, overseeing indemnity and cost management.
- Collaborate with underwriters to provide insights on claim trends and support product development.
- Identify fraudulent claims and identify recovery opportunities from third parties.
- Contribute to business-wide projects and the continuous improvement of the claims operation.
Requirements
- Experience as an insurance claims handler (or within a TPA/DA or law firm) specifically handling Motor Claims.
- Strong expertise in assessing policy coverage and liability.
- Proven experience managing claims end-to-end, including the instruction of solicitors.
- Sound understanding of civil litigation and pre-action protocols.
- Ability to manage multiple claims and prioritize effectively under pressure.
- Required to be based in or able to travel regularly to York or Colchester.
Nice to have
- Experience handling third party property damage claims under Public Liability (PL) policies.
- Special investigation or fraud experience in motor claims.
- Professional qualifications such as CII, CILex, or equivalent.
