Engineering Manager - Pay (Fintech)

Location: Fully remote in Ireland or the UK

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop an engineering team within the Pay Pillar.
• Set team strategy, roadmaps, goals, and delivery practices in collaboration with the Head of Engineering and Product team.
• Provide technical guidance on scalable, maintainable, and resilient distributed systems, including code reviews and system design.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineering teams, payment providers, and third-party partners.
• Drive observability, monitoring, service level objectives, production escalation, and operational excellence.
• Recruit and onboard engineers while improving processes, delivery efficiency, and team performance.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of demonstrated impact in a comparable leadership role with direct reports.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience with object-oriented software design, such as Java, Kotlin, or Ruby.
• Experience designing scalable and resilient solutions, ideally in fintech.
• Experience managing Agile teams, improving software delivery processes, and supporting engineers' career growth.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools, plus strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
