Senior Director, External Communications & Thought Leadership (Healthcare)

Location: Remote, USA

Salary: $168,000–$231,000 annual base salary; discretionary bonuses may also be available.

What you will do

• Create and execute strategic communication plans and shape the company narrative with senior executives.
• Advise and coach executive spokespeople for media interviews, speeches, and internal events.
• Develop corporate messaging, themes, and storylines that strengthen brand awareness and protect reputation.
• Lead thought leadership programs for clinical experts and create content such as press releases, bylined articles, and presentations.
• Build relationships with media outlets and industry analysts while establishing communication processes and measuring program impact.
• Manage and develop the media relations and executive communications teams.

Requirements

• 15+ years of communications experience, including media relations and executive communications.
• Proven ability to build external media networks and establish trust with senior executives.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution skills.
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to make complex, technical, or sensitive topics clear and compelling.
• Experience building thought leadership programs, preferably in healthcare or technology.
• Strong organizational, collaboration, emotional intelligence, and cross-functional communication skills.

• Background in healthcare and understanding of evidence-based mental health care.
