What you will do

• Analyze functional designs and specifications to ensure software features are testable.
• Develop test plans, test scripts, expected results, test environments, and test data sets.
• Execute functional and system integration tests, log defects, and track incidents through resolution.
• Create testing status reports for business stakeholders and support final product acceptance.
• Evaluate testing workflows for automation opportunities and support test-management tool adoption.
• Assist with testing estimates, schedules, risk reporting, stakeholder collaboration, and internal knowledge-base documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• At least six months of experience in an IT or professional business environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills, including the ability to identify inconsistencies in data or logic.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
• Role location: Oakland, California, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise test-management or defect-tracking tools.
• Basic understanding of relational databases and simple queries for data validation.
• Business knowledge of the functional areas being supported.
• Consulting mindset focused on preventing defects as well as identifying them.
